The PEX convenes the 5th Annual Palestinian Capital Market Forum on Monday, 21 November 2011 under the sponsorship of PADICO

Palestine Stock Exchange and "PADICO Holding" sign a sponsorship agreement for the Annual Palestinian Capital Market Forum.

Mr. Ahmad Aweidah, Chief Executive Officer of the Palestine Exchange (PEX) announced the convening of PEX 5th Annual Palestinian Capital Market Forum (www.pex.ps/forum) to be held in Ramallah city, Palestine on Monday 21 November 2011. The 5th Forum will focus its deliberations on family businesses and strategies for the future by highlighting issues relating to their possible transformation into public shareholding companies as a step towards institutionalization, growth and sustainability as well as to enhance transparency and good corporate governance practice.

Aweidah stated that the forum this year will capitalize on PEX efforts of targeting a pool of potential Palestinian family business to be transformed into public shareholding companies and be listed on the Exchange. He added, "PEX corporate strategy entails increasing market depth by quality listing of new companies. Family businesses in Palestine are considered an important pillar of the Palestinian economy and we believe these businesses once listed on the exchange will certainly contribute to increasing trading volumes and values".

The forum will host a number of local, regional and international experts to address vital topics such as; generational transition of family-owned business, status and challenges of family business in Palestine, a regional case of the transition from a family business to public shareholding company and listing on the exchange, as well as topics relating to initial public offering (IPO) road map and valuation in IPOs.

Some of the speakers include Mr. Neil Janin, Director Emeritus of McKinsey & Company Inc. in France, Mr. Samih Darwazah, Chairman of Hikma Pharmaceuticals in  Jordan, Ms. Samar Obaid, Partner of  Earnest & Yong in Jordan, Ms. Hiba Husseini, Managing Partner of Husseini and Husseini- Attorneys & Counselors at Law in Palestine and Mr. Ziad Anabtawi, Partner and General Manager of Anabtawi Group in Palestine.

The Annual Palestinian Capital Market Forum constitutes a major attraction for Palestine"s financial and capital markets community; it is the place to meet listed companies, regulators, Palestine Exchange Executives, Analysts, Brokers and Bankers. The Forum successfully creates an environment that is conducive to sharing local, Arab and international experiences, exploring opportunities and developing this vital sector, to contribute to the development of the Palestinian National Economy.
