2011-11-23

Palestine Exchange issued “The Initial Public Offering and listing Guide in Palestine” simultaneously with holding the Fifth Annual Palestinian Capital Market Forum in Ramallah. The guide was distributed during the forum to certain interested parties.

The issuance of this guide came as a step to draw a rout for the private companies that seek to change their form to public shareholding companies, and to list their stocks in the Exchange, in the shadow of scarce information within this side and the thirst of many of these companies for knowledge and guidance. The guide helps stirring serious and objective conversations within these companies through the addition of the converting case on their schedules, to make the necessary studies and consulting needed to get to the right decisions.

The guide consists of 88 pages, introduced by an introductory speech for the executive chief of Palestine Exchange Mr. Ahmad Aweidah, of which he spoke about the realities of these companies, and the reasons for change in this important category of companies. The guide contained, in its beginning, definitions for some used phrases, then, viewed “questions and common sentences”, which contained the interests, questions and concerns between the establishers and the managers of these companies. The guide was divided into eleven chapters, which are: 1) Types of companies in the corporations’ law, 2) The characteristics of public shareholding companies in the law, 3) Types of issuances, 4) Why the initial public offering, 5) Why do firms want listing, 6) Initial public offering’ challenges, 7) Parties contributing to the initial public offering, 8) stages of the initial public offering, 9) Public offering time schedule, 10) Initial public offering expenses, 11) Ongoing obligations. Palestine Exchange is considered one of the most few which issues such a guide, which strengthens the Palestinian investment environment and supply it with vital improvement ways.
