The Signing of an Agreement to Grant the Palestinian Authority 15 million Euros from the French Government

The Palestinian Authority and the French Government, yesterday, signed an agreement for financial assistance worth 15 million Euros that will be transfer directly to the accounts of the Palestinian treasury and earmark the payment of staff salaries and certain private debts and also support the printing of new educational text books for schools. Dr.Salam Fayyad signed an agreement, on behalf of Palestinians, with the French Consul General in Jerusalem Allen Rimi, on behalf of the French Government at the Prime Ministry in Ramallah. The French Consulate said that,”This special aid reflects France ’s support for the National Authority and the Palestinian people, and comes in order to help establish an independent state which it deserves and aspires.”This agreement is worth 15 million Euros and is promised by the President of the French Republic, Nicholas Sarkozy to his counterpart President Mahmoud Abbas,head of the Palestinian Authority”..
