The Government: Staff salaries will not be delayed and are ready to take security responsibility in the
West Bank .
The government announced that it provided banks with staff disclosures as of yesterday, and that employees were supposed to be paid yesterday morning. Minister of Media stated that he did not know the reason for employees not receiving their salaries yesterday. The government announced it would begin distributing salaries for civilians and military personnel yesterday ,which was Monday but after checking their bank accounts employees realized their salaries weren’t deposited. Almalki said, ”We have been working on this issue since Monday morning due to the fact we are positive we carried out our promise and did what was supposed to be done in order for employees to receive their salaries Monday. ”He also stated in his conference yesterday, following the government meeting, explaining the issue may have occurred due to not enough cash in some banks in
Gaza . Almalki said,”There might not be enough cash in
Gaza banks and seems like there has been an ill estimate of the amounts required there. There may be some difficulties but they will be solved in a day or two. ”The government: The salaries today are at the very least, therefore the governments intention is to bring all salaries from the Ministry of Finance and the European grant of $21 million at one time. This may be the latest upheaval in banks.
