EUROPEAN aid valuing 2.5 million Euros fro the implementation of the III phase for the modernizing Palestinian customs program
In Jerusalem, The European Commission announced that both the UNCTAD and the EU intend to increase the pace of their activities in the framework of technical assistance for the modernization of Palestinian customs operations as part of the broader efforts to strengthen the capacity of Palestinian institutions. UNCTAD and EU signed a grant agreement sponsored by Dr.Fayyad , the prime minister of finance, in which the EU is working to provide 2.5 million Euros to finance a project for technical assistance under the title ”The Palestinian Customs Modernization Program”: ASYCUDA phase -III which will be implemented by UNCTAD. The European Commission stated yesterday that, ”This ASYCUDA-phase III system is the backbone of the Palestinian Customs and border pints department which is updated and works as a first step in efforts to facilitate trade.
