Minister of Planning:”The government has succeeded in persuading donors to continue providing support to the PNA for the implementation of a medium-term development plan.”
Dr.Samir Abdallah,Minister of Planning,yesterday assured the governments has succeeded in persuading donors to continue providing support to the national authority early nest year until being Adoption of a medium-term development plan and implementation of the promises made by donor countries for the Palestinian side. Abdullah denied in an interview with local media, held at the headquarters of the Ministry of Planning in City of Ramallah, the reports about the possibility of a financial crisis with the end of this year, pointing out that the funds pledged by donors will need to provide at least three months until it reaches National Authority, has been overcome this dilemma, in cooperation with donor countries. He pointed out that the meeting of the donor countries and expected place in the month of December, will discuss a medium-term development plan, and that in the framework of preparation was a meeting between the Palestinian side and the States were in New York and discussed the work of the Palestinian side on a medium-term development plan, and said that donors any criticism did not show it. He commended Abdullah, the position expressed by the members of the Temporary International Liaison Committee charged with coordinating aid to the Palestinian people, during the New York meeting. Abdullah said, the members of the Committee includes representatives from the United States, Russia, the European Union, Japan and others, provided especially in the final statement of the meeting, positive signals on the continuation of international support to the national authority, including enabling the government to maintain the pace of activity in the economic sphere . He also said: We heard a lot of support and interest in the performance of government and the ambitious reform program begun prepared, and all the fears that economic momentum will face obstacles, or setbacks, no longer exists under the willingness of the support we sensed. He added that the Palestinian delegation went to the New York meeting chaired by Dr. Salam Fayyad claim to donor countries to provide political support first of the Palestinian people for the success of any development plan because the occupation is a permanent obstacle to the success of any development process is destroyed
