Bank of Palestine leads the activity, and Palestine Telecommunications concedes Al_Quds index 6.5 point.

2008-02-24

The Prime Minister Dr.Salam Fayyad announced in the last week that the treasury received $260 million from donors that were pledged in Paris conference, where USA administration declared that $100 million will be transferred to the unified account of the treasury next March. Dr. Fayyad expects this to motivate the other donors" institutions which prefer to finance development projects to dominate their aids to the treasury account. In light of this positive indicators to support the treasury and complying with the ascending trend in the Arab stock exchanges and subsidized by the increase in oil prices and the disclosed profits of the companies, Al Quds index earned 6.5 points (%1.07) last week to close at the level of 603.48 points affected mainly by the solid activity for PALTEL. On the other hand, BOP led the market activity from trading volume side constituting %38 from aggregate market value.
