Municipal officials appealed to the Gaza Strip and Finance Minister Salam Fayyad to allocate financial assistance from the UAE grant to pay part of their owed salaries.

 As the staff of the municipalitie which is assisted by   the Ministry of Finance considers this the only glimmer of hope before they reach a state of desperation, especially since they did not receive their salary for six months so far.
