Al-Quds Index declines in mid-April

Al-Quds Index recorded- in this week with four trading sessions- a decline by 0.91% than the previous week, to close at the level of 628.77 points after trading in a relatively narrow range. While the leading stocks stood still with a slight increase or decrease in their prices. On the other hand, Palestine Stock Exchange PEX witnessed a momentum in raising the recommendations to distribute dividends for the year 2025 and approving them. While it also entered a new anticipation phase of the quarterly financial data disclosures for Q1 2026, to raise the investors’ anticipation.

Regarding continuing to raise the recommendations to distribute dividends for the shareholders for the year 2025, the board of directors of the Vegetable Oil Industries Company VOIC proposed to the general assembly, which will be holding a meeting on 20/04/2026, distributing 40% cash dividends for the year 2025. With this proposal, the number of listed companies that proposed distributing cash dividends for the shareholders reached 13 companies, where two companies of them approved the dividends distribution. While 5 companies proposed distributing cash and stocks dividends together, where two companies approved the dividends distribution.

Regarding the economic indicators and according to the Palestinian Central Bureau of Statistics PCBS, the overall Consumer Price Index CPI for Palestine during March 2026 recorded an increase by 5.27% compared with February 2026 (12.42% in Gaza Strip, by 0.75% in the West Bank, and by 0.62% in Jerusalem). The increase recorded in the West Bank is attributed to the rise in prices of fresh vegetables by 15.78%, liquid fuel for cars (diesel) by 4.75%, fresh chicken by 4.42%, fresh fruit by 3.32%, gas by 2.26%, liquid fuel for cars (gasoline) by 2.00%, vegetable oils by 1.94%, and fresh meat by 1.17%. On the other hand, the Palestinian CPI during March 2026 increased by 3.02% compared with March 2025 (5.01% in Gaza Strip, by 2.94% in Jerusalem, and by 1.40% in the West Bank).
