With the approaching end of August, Al-Quds Index recorded gains of 1.46% than the previous week, to close at 683.33 points. While Palestine Stock Exchange PEX witnessed executing transactions of the stocks of Bank of Palestine BOP and the Arab Palestinian Investment Company APIC, to raise the trading value to a relatively medium level. Regarding the blue-chips, they witnessed increase in their prices than the previous week. On another hand, and as it is obvious to the observer, the next month of September is of much importance as for its ability to boost the prices and draw the direction of the market till the end of the year.
Regarding the economic indicators and according to the Palestinian Central Bureau of Statistics PCBS, exports increased in June, 2026 by 74% compared to June, 2025 and reached $213.4 million. Also, imports increased in June, 2026 by 44% compared to June, 2025 and reached $734.7 million. While the trade balance, which represents the difference between exports and imports, showed an increase in trade deficit by 34% in June, 2026 compared to June, 2025 and reached $521.3 million.
Regarding the economic indicators and according to the Palestinian Central Bureau of Statistics PCBS as well, the overall Consumer Price Index CPI for Palestine during July 2026 recorded a decrease by 1.68% compared with June 2026 (by 3.87% in Gaza Strip, by 0.33% in Jerusalem, and by 0.19% in the West Bank). The changes in Palestinian CPI during July 2026 were traced back to the decline in the prices of the following expenditure sub groups compared with previous month: eggs by 8.20%, fresh vegetables by 5.19%, liquid fuel for car- Petrol- by 4.11%, liquid fuel for car- diesel- by 3.12%, fresh fruit by 2.41%, gas by 2.10%, fresh chicken by 1.61% and vegetable oil by 1.40%. On the other hand, the Palestinian CPI during July 2026 decreased by 43.19% compared with July 2025 (66.27% in Gaza Strip. While, the index increased by 1.90% in Jerusalem, and by 1.67% in the West Bank).
